You’ll find that reading through these sections will provide you with a quick and easy-to-use means of reviewing the key sections of Word Basics. They can also serve as a very handy witnessing tool which will enable you to share the Bible’s answers and guidance with others.

Because these Scriptures are spelled out in their entirety, and are some of the most basic and important verses found in the Bible, they can also serve as an excellent source of verses to be committed to memory. “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.” (Psa.119:11.)

SALVATION

Jn.1:12 - As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
Jn.3:3 - Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
Jn.3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jn.3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Jn.6:37 - All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
Jn.10:28 - I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.
Jn.14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD

Isa.9:6 - For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Jn.1:1,14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jn.3:17 - God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
Jn.10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth His life for the sheep.
Jn.15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Acts 10:38 - God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
Rom.5:8 - God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

Lk.11:13 - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?
Jn.7:38,39a - He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive.
Jn.14:26 - The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Jn.16:13 - When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.
Acts 1:8 - Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 2:17,18 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: and on My servants and on My handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they shall prophesy.

THE WORD OF GOD

Josh.1:8 - This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Job 23:12b - I have esteemed the Words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
Psa.119:11 - Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.
Psa.119:89 - For ever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in Heaven.
Psa.119:105 - Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Jer.15:16a - Thy Words were found, and I did eat them.
Mat.4:4 - Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Mat.24:35 - Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.
Jn.6:63 - It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

PRAYER

Psa.66:18,19 - If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
Jer.29:13 - Ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.
Jer.33:3 - Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Mat.7:7,8 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat.18:19 - If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven.
Mk.11:24 - What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

FAITH

Job 13:15a - Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.
Pro.3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Mat.9:29b - According to your faith be it unto you.
Mk.9:23 - If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Rom.4:20,21 - He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.
Rom.10:17 - Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
2Cor.5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Heb.10:35 - Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
Heb.10:38a - Now the just shall live by faith.
Heb.11:1,6 - Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
1Jn.5:4b - This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

LOVE

Mat.7:12 - Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them.
Mat.22:37-39 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Jn.13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Jn.15:12 - This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
1Cor.13:8a - Love never faileth.
1Cor.16:14 - Let all your things be done with love.
1Pet.4:8 - Above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins.
1Jn.3:16 - Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1Jn.3:18 - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1Jn.4:8 - He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

FORGIVENESS

Mat.6:14,15 - For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Eph.4:32 - Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
1Jn.1:9 - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD

Psa.111:10a - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Pro.8:17 - I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find Me.
Mat.11:28-30 - Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
Mat.22:37,38 - Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Jn.14:23 - If a man love Me, he will keep My Words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him.
Rom.7:4 - Ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to Him Who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
2Cor.6:16b - Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Eph.5:30 - We are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.
Jam.4:8a - Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.

FELLOWSHIP

Heb.10:25 - Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Psa.133:1 - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Eccl.4:9,10 - Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Mat.18:20 - Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.
1Jn.1:7a - If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another.

WITNESSING

Psa.126:6 - He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Pro.11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Ezk.3:17-19 - Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the Word at My mouth, and give them warning from Me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Dan.12:3 - They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Mat.4:19 - Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Mat.5:14-16 - Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.
Mat.9:37,38 - Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.
Mk.8:38 - Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My Words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.
Mk.16:15 - And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Jn.15:16a - Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.
1Cor.9:16 - For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
2Tim.2:23 - But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
2Tim.4:2 - Preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
1Pet.3:15b - Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

GIVING

Pro.3:27,28 - Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
Pro.11:24,25 - There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: And he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Pro.19:17 - He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will He pay him again.
Mal.3:10 - Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Lk.6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Acts 20:35b - It is more blessed to give than to receive.
2Cor.9:6,7 - He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
1Jn.3:17,18 - Whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

HOW TO FIND THE WILL OF GOD

Judg.6:37 - Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that Thou wilt save Israel by mine hand.
Psa.32:8 - I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye.
Psa.119:130 - The entrance of Thy Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Psa.143:8b - Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee.
Pro.3:6 - In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Pro.15:22 - Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Isa.30:21 - Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Lk.22:42 - Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from Me: nevertheless not My will, but Thine, be done.
Rom.12:1,2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

OBEDIENCE TO GOD

1Sam.15:22 - Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
Job 36:11 - If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Isa.1:19,20 - If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Lk.6:46 - Why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Jn.13:17 - If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Jn.14:15 - If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
Jn.15:14 - Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Eph.6:6 - Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
Heb.5:8 - Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered.

STRENGTH and POWER

Psa.68:35b - The God of Israel is He that giveth strength and power unto His people.
Neh.8:10b - The joy of the Lord is your strength.
Psa.37:39 - The salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in the time of trouble.
Isa.30:7b - Their strength is to sit still.
Isa.30:15b - In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.
Isa.40:29 - He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength.
Isa.40:31 - They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Jer.17:5 - Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
Zech.4:6b - Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
2Cor.4:7 - But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2Cor.12:9,10b - And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
Eph.6:10 - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
Phi.4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

PROTECTION

Exo.14:14 - The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Psa.34:7 - The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.
Psa.34:17 - The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psa.46:1,2 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
Pro.1:33 - Whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
Pro.18:10 - The name of the Lord is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Isa.43:2 - When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

SUPPLY

Psa.23:1 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (lack).
Psa.34:10 - They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
Psa.37:3 - Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psa.37:25 - I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Psa.68:19a - Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits.
Psa.84:11b - No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Mat.6:25,26 - Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Mat.6:33 - Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mat.7:9-11 - What man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him?
Rom.8:32 - He that spared not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Phi.4:19 - My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

TRIALS, TEMPTATIONS and TRIBULATIONS

Job 23:10 - He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Pro.1:10 - My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Pro.3:11,12 - My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of His correction: For whom the Lord loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Mat.26:41 - Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
1Cor.10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
2Tim.2:3 - Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Heb.12:2,3 - Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Jam.1:3 - The trying of your faith worketh patience.
Jam.1:12 - Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.
1Pet.1:7 - That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
2Pet.2:9a - The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations.

SUFFERING

Psa.34:19 - Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psa.119:67 - Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept Thy Word.
Psa.119:71 - It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes.
Rom.8:18 - For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Rom.8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
2Cor.4:17 - For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
2Tim.2:12 - If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us.
1Pet.4:19 - Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

COMFORT

Psa.23:4 - Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Psa.30:5 - For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psa.119:50 - This is my comfort in my affliction: for Thy Word hath quickened me.
Psa.145:14 - The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.
Psa.147:3 - He healeth up the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Isa.54:7 - For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
Lam.3:32,33 - Though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies. For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
Mat.5:4 - Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Jn.14:1 - Let not your heart be troubled: Ye believe in God, believe also in Me.
Jn.14:18 - I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
2Cor.1:4 - Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Heb.4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Heb.13:5b - He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

HEALING

Exo.15:26b - I am the Lord that healeth thee.
Psa.34:19 - Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psa.103:3 - Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases.
Psa.107:20 - He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Isa.53:5b - With His stripes we are healed.
Jer.30:17a - I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord.
Jer.32:27 - Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?
Mal.4:2a - Unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings.
Mat.18:19 - If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven.
Lk.17:14b - As they went, they were cleansed.
Jam.5:14,15 - Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

OVERCOMING THE DEVIL

Isa.59:19b - When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
2Cor.2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
2Cor.10:3-5 - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
Eph.4:27 - Neither give place to the devil.
Eph.6:11,12 - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph.6:16 - Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Jam.4:7b - Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1Pet.5:8,9a - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith.
1Jn.2:14b - The Word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
1Jn.3:8b - For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn.4:4b - Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

FEAR NOT

Psa.27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psa.34:4 - I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Psa.56:3 - What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee.
Psa.56:11 - In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
Psa.118:6 - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Pro.29:25 - The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
Isa.12:2a - Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid.
Isa.26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.
Isa.41:10 - Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.
Jn.14:27 - Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
2Tim.1:7 - God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1Jn.4:18 - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

THANKFULNESS

Psa.34:1 - I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psa.107:8 - Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
1Cor.10:10 - Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
Phi.2:14 - Do all things without murmurings and disputings.
Phi.4:11 - I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
1Thes.5:18 - In every thing give thanks.

PRIDE, SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS and HUMILITY

Pro.11:2 - When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
Pro.16:18 - Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Dan.4:37b - Those that walk in pride He is able to abase.
Mat.23:12 - Whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Lk.6:41,42b - Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
2Cor.10:17 - He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Phi.2:3 - Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
1Pet.5:5b,6 - All of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

THE POWER OF THE TONGUE

Psa.19:14 - Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psa.35:28 - My tongue shall speak of Thy righteousness and of Thy praise all the day long.
Pro.16:24 - Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Pro.17:27 - He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
Pro.18:21a - Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Pro.29:11 - A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
Mat.12:34b - Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Mat.12:36,37 - Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Eph.4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
2Tim.2:16 - But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
2Tim.2:24 - The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.

Psa.133:1 - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Eccl.4:9,10,12 - Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Amos 3:3 - Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
Rom.12:5 - We, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Rom.14:19 - Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Rom.16:17 - Mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
1Cor.1:10 - Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Eph.4:3 - Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

DISCIPLESHIP

Mat.4:19 - Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Mat.6:24 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Mat.12:50 - Whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in Heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother.
Mat.19:29 - Every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Lk.9:23,24 - If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.
Lk.9:62 - No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.

THE CHRISTIAN’S RELATIONSHIP TO WORLDLY SOCIETY

Mat.10:16 - Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Jn.15:19 - If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Rom.12:2 - Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2Cor.6:14 - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?
2Cor.6:17 - Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
Jam.4:4 - Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1Jn.2:15,16 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

PERSECUTION

Mat.5:10-12 - Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in Heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Mat.10:23a - When they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another.
Jn.15:18 - If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
Jn.15:20 - Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.
Jn.16:2b - The time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Phi.1:29 - For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
2Tim.3:12 - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

BACKSLIDING

Psa.37:31 - The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
Pro.13:15b - The way of transgressors is hard.
Pro.14:14a - The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways.
2Tim.4:10a - Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world.
Heb.10:38 - Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Heb.11:15 - If they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
2Pet.2:20-22 - For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

CHRISTIANITY IN CRISIS

Ezk.33:31 - They come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as My people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
Ezk.34:2b,3 - Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.
Mat.15:8,9 - This people draweth nigh unto Me with their mouth, and honoureth Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. In vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mat.22:29 - Ye do err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
Mk.7:9,13 - Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered.
Acts 7:48 - Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet.
2Tim.3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Rev.3:15,16 - I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth.

THE LAW OF CHRIST

Mat.22:37-40 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Jn.1:17 - For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Rom.3:28 - Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Rom.8:2 - The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rom.10:4 - For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Rom.13:8b - He that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Gal.2:21 - I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Gal.3:13a - Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law.
Gal.3:24,25 - The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Gal.5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Gal.5:13 - For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Gal.5:14 - For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
1Tim.1:9a - Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient.
Jam.2:10 - Whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

CREATION VS. EVOLUTION

Gen.1:1 - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Acts 14:15b - Ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein.
Rom.1:20-22,25 - For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed for ever.
1Tim.6:20 - Keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.
2Tim.3:7 - Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Heb.11:3 - Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
